The real problem of blindness is not the lack of eyesight. The real problem is the misunderstanding and lack of information which exist. If a blind person has proper training and opportunity, blindness is only a physical nuisance.
The National Federation of the Blind of Pennsylvania (NFBP) is a state affiliate of The National Federation of the Blind and works to enable those who cannot see to live full and independent lives, just like people who can see.
On May 14, 2013, the NFB of Pennsylvania will be hosting a Possibilities Fair for Older Adults Who Are Losing Vision and for Their Families. This Possibilities Fair will provide a hands-on opportunity for those 55 and older who are losing vision to learn how to improve their lives. The Fair will include demonstration areas featuring alternative techniques, equipment, services for older adults losing vision, and helpful hints about enjoying life. Click here for more information about the Possibilities Fair for Older Adults Who Are Losing Vision and for Their Families
Your tax-deductable gifts to the NFB of Pennsylvania will help blind and visually-impaired people across the state, including children at our school for the blind, students in all levels of education, adults trying to attain employment, veterans injured defending freedom, and people losing their vision due to age-related conditions. Please help us to teach blindess-related skills to those who are struggling, to advocate for blind children who are not getting the education they need and deserve, and to encourage those who are overcoming the challenges of blindness every day. You can contribute with any major credit card or using a PayPal account if you have one.
