2020
NFB of Pennsylvania President Lynn Heitz presented Michael Gamel McCormick, Senator Bob Casey’s Disability Policy Director, with a framed copy of Resolution 2019-04 passed at the 2019 NFB of Pennsylvania State Convention, which commends Senator Casey for sponsoring the Transformation to Competitive Employment Act (S 260), which phases out the practice of legally paying disabled workers subminimum wages set by Section 14C of the Fair Labors Standards Act of 1938 over a six year period.
NFB of Pennsylvania President Lynn Heitz presented Congressman Mike Kelly with a framed copy of Resolution 2019-03 passed at the 2019 NFB of Pennsylvania State Convention, which commends him for co-sponsoring the Access Technology Affordability Act (HR 2086), which provides blind and vision impaired individuals with a $2,000 refundable tax credit to purchase access technology over a three year period.
